Mission43 Celebrates 10 Years with October Events Focused on Belonging, Entrepreneurship and Community

Mission43 marks 10 years in Idaho with October events bringing the military-connected community together around belonging, entrepreneurship and community.

As part of its 10th Anniversary Campaign, Mission43 will host two major October events designed to bring Idaho’s military-connected community together around belonging, leadership, entrepreneurship and community.

The month begins with 43INC with Sebastian Junger on Wednesday, October 7 at the Idaho Outdoor Fieldhouse. Junger, the bestselling author of Tribe: On Homecoming and Belonging, will join Mission43 for a conversation exploring service, homecoming, purpose and the power of community. The event is part of Mission43’s Big Read, which invites members to read Tribe and reflect on belonging and connection.

Later in the month, Mission43 and Veteran Entrepreneur Alliance will host the Military Business Market on Saturday, October 17, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Idaho Outdoor Fieldhouse. The family-friendly market will feature veteran- and military spouse-owned businesses from across Idaho, giving the broader community a chance to shop local, meet the people behind the businesses, and support military-connected entrepreneurs.

Both events are part of Mission43’s 10th Anniversary Campaign, United in Service and Building Strength in Community, which celebrates the organization’s growth from approximately 200 members to more than 10,000 veterans, military spouses and family members across Idaho.

“Mission43 was built on the belief that service does not end when the uniform comes off,” said Dan McGurkin, Director of Mission43. “For the past 10 years, we have seen veterans, military spouses and families continue to lead, build, serve and strengthen communities across Idaho. Events like 43INC and the Military Business Market reflect what this community is all about: belonging, opportunity and people coming together to support one another.”

Over the past decade, Mission43 has helped Idaho’s military-connected community connect, grow, lead and continue serving beyond the uniform. October’s events reflect the organization’s broader mission to create opportunities for members to find belonging, build meaningful relationships, pursue new goals and strengthen the communities they call home.
